Noticeable Residue

I tried this twice and I have since given up. I followed the directions perfectly. The directions say to apply it once you have applied your foundation and it has dried. So, I waited about 5 minutes after I applied my foundation and then applied it over the foundation and checked back in an hour. I had a white residue where I had applied it. It was very noticeable, so I had to redo my whole make up. So a few days later I repeated the process again carefully following the directions, and it still left the residue. Yuck! 2 strikes and it's out the door. I am sorry I wasted my $ on this.
Cons: complicated
No, I do not recommend this product.

Product does as stated

During my trip to CVS today, I bought this Dermasilk 1 Minute wrinkle eraser pen. What did I have to lose? CVS priced this pen for $19.29 in-store (though I later found it on their website for $15.99) and with purchase, I received $10 Extra Care Bucks back for my 2nd purchase transaction (thus the $5.59 deal I received as noted in my prior blog). I also had a $5 off Sunday coupon, bringing the cost down to $4.29.
I know there are a lot of gimmicks out there, but I saw their products on a morning show & they said the products actually work & results can last 2+ hours.
The last 6 or so years my life have been very stressful. I tend to furrow my eyebrows without even realizing it. This causes 2 vertical wrinkles between them, as they’ve been so tight from stress. For $4.29, I decided there wasn’t much to lose financially to try the product.
I went straight home to use it! The applicator pen is similar to the brush-on teeth whitening pens I’ve seen at the Dollar Tree. You have to turn the pen at the bottom to release the cream into the applicator brush. At first, I thought it was all dried up because the brush had some dried up balls of the product in it & it took multiple twists to get the cream to come out.
The product is white and dries clear. It’s recommended that if you are going to wear make up, to put the cream on after the foundation is applied & dries, but before any facial powder is used. I placed it on my clean, bare skin & noticed that where it had dried, there was a matte finish & you could tell my skin was shiny around it. I would recommend placing powder on your face afterward to give it an even finish.
There was a slight tingle. After the cream was applied & had dried, I had to place a 2nd application on it & then let it dry.
I do some modeling & acting & I’m no Spring chicken anymore (will be 42 this year), & I’m concerned about my “furrows” & the beginning signs of “crows feet”. This product does what it says & it’s a temporary miracle. After trying to stay stressed out after application (LOL), I went back to the mirror & the furrows were much less pronounced as they were prior to application. This would be perfect to use prior to having any professional photographs where your face has any kind extreme close up.
I do not recommend that you try it under your eyes…This is not what the product is intended for. I wanted to see what happened since I was already playing around with it on the “crows feet”. Unfortunately, I inherited bags under my eyes, which only I seem to notice at this point. When the cream dried, I noticed that when I smiled, one under eye “bag” seemed a bit wrinkled where I didn’t previously have wrinkles. So I know the product is working if it made wrinkles suddenly appear. Again, this product is not meant for your under eyes.
All-in-all, today’s purchase was an excellent value at $4.29. If you need to look good temporarily, then there is good reason to give this product a try.
Long term-wise, it can get VERY pricey but it’s a good alternative to plastic surgery. If I didn’t have to have professional photos taken or do any acting, I probably wouldn’t purchase the product unless I had a class reunion or special event to go to and some high-dollar coupons.
The MAJOR drawback is there isn’t even 1 ounce of product in this pen (0.13 oz), so regular use will definitely hurt the pocketbook.
Per my “rough” calculations:
0.13 oz = 4ml. There are approximately 29.5735 ml in an ounce.
4 ml goes into 29.5735 = 7.39 times.
$19.29 X 7.39 = $142.62 an ounce!! OUCH!!!!!
This is definitely cheaper than vanilla beans (Check out the “per ounce” price at Wal*Mart sometime)
There was a $3 off coupon in the package enticing me for a future purchase. There is surprisingly, NO EXPIRATION DATE.
