Something big was in the cabinet under the sink during the night and chewed the dishwasher drain line. The first Riddex we bought was no longer working correctly, so I purchased a new one and plugged it in. The "thing" has not been back.
Pros: Great value, well worth the minimal cost
Yes, I recommend this product.

This is a good addition to your pest control. I bought a home; bug bombed it then sprayed exterior then added a Riddex to each floor and basement weeks later. I feel this product made the remaining few roaches come out away from the wall and flip upside down for me to get rid of them. If you have a zoo of pests I recommend you use Riddex AFTER you have professionally gotten rid of the major problem. I view this product as a good preventative all year maintenance. With that said I will be spraying my exterior house since its spring.
Pros: Great value, Meets expectations
Yes, I recommend this product.

Seems It Might Not Work For Certain Reasons...

I'm basing my review on the results of using this product as well as my talks with professionals who understand how electric current works, how small animals and bugs react to their environment, and the age and design of different home's regarding wiring. I and others believe in theory it should work, but under certain circumstances it may not.
We bought this to get rid of tiny field mice in my apartment (large multi-story brick building#. We also had a lot of spiders, some very large black ants during certain times of the year, cave crickets, and a variety of flying insects we get seasonally.
We've had it plugged in now for about 4 weeks.
During the first few days the mice kept visiting #one at a time). We witnessed this when we surprised one during the middle of the night, and we also knew because they left behind feces. We waited one full week before giving up on thinking this device would keep the mice from coming back. The mice kept coming. On day 8 we ended up putting out a live catch trap to get rid of the mice. We caught 5 mice in about 7 days while the Riddex Plus was plugged in. It's plugged in a small kitchen, a few feet from where the mice were coming in behind the stove. After talking with several pros that understand electricity and others that understand animal behavior we came to the conclusion the following is what kept it from warding off the mice:
We live in a very old apartment building, possibly 60 or 70 years old with wiring that's just as old. We figured maybe this thing doesn't work as well with old wiring and some electricians tend to agree old wiring might be a factor, but they would not swear to it.
But more so, if it only works for the wiring in your own home or apartment that means the mice will still be hanging out next door or above or below us in other apartments or in the walls, floors, ceilings, just out of range of this device's "sound". And, we figure, they run in and out real quick. Think about it. If a mouse is use to coming into your home or apartment and they're comfortable, and they're hungry, they will continue to come in no matter how much the sound of this thing may bother them. Hunger can overcome fears and pain. They'll just spend less time there, run in, get some food, and run out as fast as possible. If they're only in for about 1-2 minutes they can most likely handle the sound that's supposed to drive them away. We think it can be similar for home owners - the mice may hang out in holes in the ground outside, then run in real quick to check for food, then run back out again.
I did notice that little to no bugs are in the apartment in the past month, but it's just the beginning of spring now so we'll have to go through all the seasons to know for sure. I did see a few extremely tiny ants in the kitchen near the mice traps (I loaded them with peanut butter). I've never seen ants that tiny in my apartment before. The ants we get are usually very large. So the jury is still out for me on how it works on bugs.
Would I buy it again? NO. Not while I live in this old apartment with old wiring and so close to others who may not be using one. Will I continue to use it? Yes, as long as we are living in this apartment we've decided it's cheap enough to keep it and hopefully it will keep something (maybe some bugs) at bay. BUT we will not use this in a house when we move and get pets (birds and other small animals). I know they say it's okay with cats and dogs, but I don't trust it. Not worth possibly making my pets miserable. Maybe we'll plug it in the garage if we have one that's separate from the house..
Cons: mice kept coming, tiny ants came never had them before
No, I do not recommend this product.
